Merry Christmas and 2022 Schedule

Merry Christmas everyone! We hope you're having a great day with family and friends! My fellow Match Directors and I have completed the 2022 Schedule linked to the right ----->>> (click 2022)

Please note, as was the case when the 2021 schedule was released, we are intending to keep all Colorado Silhouette matches starting at 9am year-round at all ranges. If one match is shifted for any reason, please do not be confused. It seems to us that the daylight savings time shift gives us back an extra hour in the winter already, so want keep it as straightforward and consistent as possible.

Additionally, if a match is being canceled due to weather or other circumstances, we will make sure to post an update here and try to spread the word via email too, but this blog is the official place to look.

AGC match on November 28th

Shooters, please note that we are starting at a later time than what’s on the schedule. The schedule says 7:30. I moved the start times to 830 so that it’ll be a little warmer.   Hopefully this will make for a  better turn out. The range opens at 8:30 in the match will start at 10.

Bring your “A” game shooters as I am giving away a ham at the end of the match to some lucky shooter.

New winter match start times for Aurora Gun Club

Hi all, starting this Sunday October 31st thru April the range open times will 
change from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.
The matches will now start at 10:00

CRC / No Smallbore on 10-10-21

 CRC is having their Fall workbond days October 9 & 10 so we will not be having a Smallbore match at CRC.   You might check with Dave B and see if he will be having a match at Aurora.   John

Registrants for State Smallbore (8/28&29)

I've been adding comments on the original post with registrants as they've come in, but those comments are not particularly "front and center", so wanted to make sure everyone who signed up is confident I've received their payments/registration. Please let me know if i've missed anyone or if you know of someone who wants to register that I can get in touch with quickly.

As of today, Sunday August 15th, 2021 we have 25 registered shooters and I know of at least 2 more tentative ones. Let's get a few more to fill out that 3rd relay and add a couple more gift cards to the mix!

Sunday 8/15/21 = Match at Aurora

Hi everyone, I was reminded this week that the typical "3rd Sunday" match at Green Mill is being moved to Aurora this month, as indicated on the 2021 schedule we distributed earlier this year.

I may still go out to Green Mill, but if you want to shoot a legit match before the State Championship on 8/28-29, head on down to Aurora this weekend.

July 4th Match at Aurora Gun Club

Hi All, We will be shooting a smallbore silhouette match at Aurora Gun Club on July 4th. The range will open at 7:30 for practice and the match will start at 9:00.

CRC- July 4 & 11 changes

 All, with first Sunday in July landing on the 4th, we are going to move the HIGHPOWER Match to July 11th. We are not rescheduling the July SMALLBORE Match. This will give the HIGHPOWER shooters a final tuneup before WYOMING. If you have any questions please contact myself or Bon. McAlice.

I've been watching the weather all week, somewhat anxiously... mostly because I'm excited to show off the new I-Beams we've installed and see how the range looks with 120 animals set up... and then knock them down one at a time!

Right now, it looks like the rain on Sunday is going to be arriving in the afternoon, so let's shoot in the morning!

4-18-2021 at Green Mill is a GO!

We’ve missed enough matches this spring! Let’s shoot!

I was out there this morning and shoveled snow for an hour, clearing out space at the walkways and the slopes on Turkeys and Rams. 

It’s gonna be muddy, but the weather should be alright. I hope to see you all there.

4/11/2021. Practice match at AGC

All,

There will not be a smallbore match at CRC on 4/11. 

So we will be running a practice match at aurora. No awards payout since it is a practice match.  

There will be a small charge for using the targets and depending on how many people show we may have to pay the guest fee since it is not a regular match

So come out have fun shooting and warm up for the season to get into full swing hopefully

2021-3-21 Smallbore Match at Green Mill Canceled

Well we're not off to a great start for smallbore matches at Green Mill this year are we?

I just drove through the club about 20 minutes ago, and there's still 2 foot tall by several feet wide drifts across the entirety of the north side of the building making the only entry point the far west end. It's melting, causing much of the concrete in the building to be standing water... Down range isn't any better. 

Between the range conditions, my being badly congested, and my backup man, Chris Farwell, being out of pocket this weekend too, I'm having to cancel the March match, as well. 

On the bright side, and as I alluded last month, I have some fantastic give-aways for the State match coming in already. For starters, we have a generous assortment of merchandise from Vortex, including a pair of Crossfire HD 12x 50mm binoculars ($229 msrp) and a 50% off certificate for a custom-made Shilen Barrel of your choosing.

2021-2-21 Smallbore Match at Green Mill Canceled

Well, I hate to do it, but even though the high of 39deg for Sunday 2/21 is going to be really close to our 40deg metric, it's not likely to get above freezing until we're done with the second match...  and there's supposed to be some wind from the SW, increasing throughout the day. 

On a positive note though, I can confirm that I've begun getting some bites from vendors on merchandise for us to give away at the State Smallbore Match on 8/28 & 8/29! I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but it doesn't look like we'll be empty handed.
