Results: Greenmill smallbore 7-18-2010

We had a great turnout this past Sunday with a total of 13 shooters. The weather was warm but I think we all can agree that we had more fun than we would have at home mowing the lawn! We would have had 14 shooters but as many of you know, Sharry was off becoming a grandmother in Flagstaff Arizona! All is well with the newborn baby boy. Congratulations to Sharry and her family! You all will have to remember to ask Sharry about her new grandson's middle name! (I am jealous)

Thank you to Jim Byrne for hosting the match!

7-11-10 High Power update

Guys, the target hauler truck is broke down. Two weeks ago it crapped out while being used for range chores. I put in a new start solenoid yesterday but it did not fix it. It is most likely the voltage regulator or the starter motor is seized or fried. The truck is a 76 F150 with a 390 cu in. I spent some time and money on it, now I am throwing it back at the club to get it repaired or replaced. Mean time, I will use my own truck to pull the target trailer out, but not to haul out a pile of shooters to reset targets. I got my limits!! Hopefully we will have enough shooters to put on a match....we will see. Me and Sara will be arriving Friday nite and spending the weekend in the trailer at the range and shooting all weekend...eat your hearts out!

Trent, come on out again. I will bring an extra gun for you to use. It will have to be the 700 .308 as the 7-08 you have used is tore apart . It does not shoot for beans any more after only 2800 or so rds. Crap factory barrels!! I am fitting it with another Douglas as soon as it arrives.

The range is in real good shape, freshly mowed and weed free berms and firing line thanks to Bill Stark and Tom Funk. These two guys put in a lot of time out there doing range maintenance and it shows. Of course being retired gives them plenty of free time to shoot and work out there. Thank them next time you see or talk to them.

No excuses accepted.....come out and shoot HP on the 11th.
