Hey everyone, just a heads up / correction to the Silhouette Schedule: We do NOT have a Smallbore match at CRC this Sunday (9-13-26). The match schedule for the front range and metro area shows a match on Sunday at CRC. I dont have a match scheduled and another group has a match on the silhouette range. John
All, I’m canceling this weekend’s Smallbore match at CRC. It’s going to be very HOT and WINDY. John
HIGHPOWER for 8-2-26 at CRC has been cancelled. Expected 100degree temps and 15-25 mph winds.
Just a reminder that we’re shooting SMALLBORE this Saturday ( tomorrow) instead of Sunday ( Mothers Day). There will also be a Levergun silhouette match following the Smallbore matches. Hope to see everyone there. John
I’m canceling the Smallbore match this Saturday at CRC due to expected high winds (15-20 mph plus higher gusts). The lever gun match following Smallbore is canceled also.
Reminder that the May Smallbore ( & levergun) matches were shifted to Saturday the 9th to avoid Mother’s Day. Hope to see everyone then.
Folks, the high temp on Sunday 3/15 is at Midnight Saturday night and it just goes downhill from there. 9am Sunday is projected to be 26deg with 25mph winds so we're going to cancel the match.
Additionally, please be aware that Green Mill's board of directors has voted to enforce a new policy for all activities at the range to be cancelled in the event the National Weather Service institutes a Red Flag Warning. Sometimes we'll know a day or two beforehand...but I do anticipate there being some matches that could be cancelled without advanced notice this summer, especially if our moisture doesn't improve significantly. Pray for rain and snow!
All, I’m canceling the Smallbore for CRC for tomorrow. It will be very muddy and windy. Lever gun is canceled also.
I have some schedule updates for Smallbore Rifle Silhouette at CRC; We originally did not have matches scheduled for Sunday April 12th and Sunday May 10th due to range maintenance/ work bond days and Mother’s Day. We moved those two days to the preceding Saturday (4-11, & 5-9). Mark your calendars.
Several shooters who shoot Smallbore also shoot lever rifle silhouette, which was scheduled for the Saturday before Smallbore. A lot of folks didn’t want to drive out 2 days in a row, so Wayne Clipp asked me about shooting his lever gun match after my Smallbore match was over. I thought this was a great idea. So, for those that want to shoot both, it’s on the same day. These will be on the regular scheduled Smallbore days , including the April and May dates this year.
So on Sunday March 8th, bring your Smallbore and lever guns out. Let me know if you have any questions.
Happy New Year Colorado Silhouette Shooters!
I hope every one of you and your families enjoyed a terrific Christmas with loved ones and maybe, just maybe, got a new silhouette rifle, ammo, or related gear under the tree!
Please find the 2026 Schedule on the blog (click "2026" in the top right corner) and let me know if there are any questions. Note the Smallbore state match is officially booked for August 15 & 16, 2026 at Green Mill Sportsman's club in Erie, CO. Registration details will be available soon. We hope to see you there!
We had a great turnout this past Sunday for the December Smallbore shoot and chili potluck. The weather was superb, warming up nicely and NO wind. After the 60 shot match we had several fun team silhouette events. Thanks to everyone who participated and brought delicious food. We will have to plan another one.
We will be having a Chili potluck after our Smallbore match next Sunday. PLEASE RSVP IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING.
We will plan on setting up at 8:30 am for practice. The match will start at 9:30.am. We will shoot one official match, then have several fun shoots. The chili lunch will follow in the clubhouse.
$10 MATCH FEE FOR THOSE WHO RSVP AND HELP SETUP.
