Hi all,  an update. We will start our practice at 10 AM. The match or  practice match will start when we have enough shooting.

You call me on my cell after 7 AM or look at the blog to confirm if we are shooting.

HP practice planned for Tuesday 12-24 at CRC

Some of us fortunate gents have Christmas Eve day off work. It is supposed to be decent weather, so lets slam steel. Show up around 8am or when ever you want. The next planned practice date is  Sunday Jan. 5th. That will give you plenty of time to load up from Tuesday.

Aurora Match Scheduled for Dec. 22 is canceled

Hi all, the weather looks to be pretty cold tomorrow so we will not be shooting a match. Maybe next weekend we will be shooting. Have a Merry Christmas!

Smallbore Silhouette at CRC

Really? You had to check this to see if we're shooting? NO! We're not shooting. I'm staying home by the fire. Maybe next month.

HP practice at CRC 12-1-13

Yep, we are now back to shooting HP practice monthly as long as the weather is decent. Come on out and join us for some steel slamming fun. I was out there this past Friday and the range is snow free and dry. Reminder...this is NOT a planned match, just the practice routine we have come to really enjoy. The range will be open to regular club members to use. Expect it.  Bring a few ones ($) to play the game "last target down wins the pot".   WHAT!!!??? you don't shoot highpower?? Don't be bashful, ask about our loaner program.   Show up around 8am for target setting detail. See you there.

The Aurora Gun Club Match scheduled for November 24 is on

Hello Shooters, We are shooting tomorrow at Aurora Gun Club. The weather looks to cold so dress warm and do not forget your weenie warmers. ( The cold will cause shrinkage.)

We are going to shoot for 2 hams after the match. If you are interested in the fun shoot after the match please bring an extra two dollars. 

The range will open at approximately 8:30 AM and the match will start at 10:00 AM

CRC Match Scheduled for Oct. 13th has been moved to Aurora

Hi All, CRC Match Scheduled for Oct. 13th has been moved to Aurora due to high winds.. Bob Snyder is out at CRC already and said the wind is blowing hard. The forecast for tommorrow is for breezy conditions even at Aurora but with less wind. If the wind stays reasonable a few hours hopefully we will shoot a match. We are now on winter hours for match start times. The range will open up for practice at 8:30 AM  and the match will start a 10:00 AM

Google group email list is active.

In an effort to facilitate communication between competitors and the match directors, the email notification list is up and active.

The Eastern Colorado USPSA group uses an email list like this to great affect.
Last minute cancellations, matches not on the schedule, lost items found at the range, match results,  competitor turnout, etc.

On another note, I would like to get feedback about adding the black powder cartridge silhouette at Watkins to this group / website / schedule. (Get all of the NRA silhouette groups under one roof)
When I went to their match last month, they had no clue that anybody was holding small bore & cowboy silhouette in Colorado.
Their communication is *almost* as bad as ours! 

I will be at the next Aurora match (Oct 20) weather permitting, and would like to know everybody's feelings on this.

The Aurora Match scheduled for September 15th is on

Hi All, The Aurora Match scheduled for September 15th is on. The weather forecast is 60 % chance of rain, so bring some rain gear just in case the weather man is right. I visited the range this morning and found it damp with no standing water or sand erosion on the berms. I have had the rifle racks under the cover since Thursday so they will be dry. See you all tommorrow.

The match is cancelled because the range is too sloppy and muddy. See you next week at Aurora.

March 24th Aurora Match Canceled

Hi All, It looks to be cold and more snow for Sunday. We will not be shooting tomorrow.  Next Saturday, March 30th we will have a make-up match. (Scott that means you can wear your cross dress outfit with make-up.) To the rest of the shooters we will have a match weather permitting. The range will open at 8:30 AM and the match will still at 10:00. Stay warm and dry.

March 10, Pratice Match at Aurora Gun Club

Hi All, If the snow stops and the sun comes out as predicted tomorrow, I will host a practice match at Aurora Gun Club if the weather turns out to be decent for shooting.  If you are going come out and play be prepared to shovel and or  sweep the berms, targets stands and shooting positions. If you are unsure if we  will be shooting in the morning please give me call on my cell phone to confirm.

March 10 CRC Match Cancelled

Well you can tell its CRC weekend, it looks like a blizzard out there again. Maybe next month we might be able to shoot, if it isn't windy. Steve

HP practice March 3 is on.

The weather is supposed to be good for Sunday, come on out for some winter shooting. The range could be quite muddy, plan on it. We probably will not set up the animals, instead using my own and the clubs animal swingers to fire on. Again, we may see a few club members show up to use the range. Show up anytime after 7 am, I will make sure the gate is open.

CRC Smallbore Silhouette February 10

It's going to be cold, snowing and windy again tomorrow. Looks like we aren't supposed to shoot smallbore at CRC this winter. Hope to see you next week at Greenmill. Steve

Feb. 3rd. HP practice session.

Supposed to be good weather this coming Sunday so let's plan on another practice day at CRC. As like last time we will set the entire range up and mow them down same way we did last month. We will have some club members using the range, but this worked out well for all of us last time. Bring a few dollars with you to play last animal down wins. Show up any time after sunrise, I'll be there waiting for help setting up. Hope you had time to load up your ammo. We will get you home in time for football, too.

HP practice match Jan. 6th

Yep, that's right. It is supposed to be in the 50's for a change. Very little snow at CRC. We will set up the range and slam steel. The range may see other member activity but I will take command of the line call all cease fires needed to accommodate everyone. I plan on being there about 7:30 to get some of the animals set up. But not rams. I will wait for help with them. Show up any time after sunrise.
